Mochila Fulfillment is looking for a highly-motivated and entrepreneurial self-starter to be the company’s business development leader, reporting directly to the CEO and Founder. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high growth, aggressive startup and will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The Director of Business Development will be able to build strong relationships with executive leaders in the markets we serve as well as maintain a strong knowledge of the industry in order to expertly advise existing and prospective clients. This role will also be responsible for client satisfaction, developing proposals to meet the evolving needs of current clients as well as overseeing the contract renewal process.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in B2B sales within the e-commerce industry with a proven track record of significant revenue generation. Given Mochila’s proprietary software and robotics platform, the successful candidate will be comfortable explaining, positioning, and selling technical solutions. Prior experience selling SaaS products or professional services would be particularly helpful.

Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality opportunities via inbound and outbound lead generation campaigns.
Navigate complex prospect environments to align the prospect around Mochila’s solution, providing evidence of Mochila’s business value throughout the selling engagement.
Engage, build relationships with, and sell to C-level executives and founders.
Craft and develop proposals for potential clients, including service specification and pricing.
Ensure ongoing client satisfaction. Develop trusted relationships with existing clients, anticipate client needs, and manage the contract renewal process.
Leverage and develop client and partner relationships to build referrals and leads, and drive adoption.
Stay current with developments and changes in the e-commerce industry, and share this information with the senior leadership team to evolve Mochila’s offering and help refine the company’s strategy and priorities.
Develop repeatable sales and account management processes that can be scaled to a team of sales professionals.
At least five years of B2B or enterprise sales experience selling software or professional services. Significant experience working in the e-commerce industry highly preferred.
Proven success in originating and closing new business.
Exceptional client relationship skills. This means professionalism, patience, a solution-oriented mindset, and experience engaging with senior executives as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with content marketing campaigns and demand generation.
Excellent business analysis and data modeling skills.
Creative problem solving with excellent judgment. This role will provide significant opportunities to independently craft innovative plans and solutions.
A get-it-done attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves – this is a hands-on leadership role.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
This is a remote position, but the ideal candidate will be based in the New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles areas.
