The role: Mochila is looking for a highly-motivated and entrepreneurial-minded self-starter to be the company’s marketing leader, reporting directly to the CEO and Founder, to refine the company’s positioning, brand, and pricing to strengthen our clients’ connection and very positive experiences with Mochila. The positioning and brand you help create will become the touchstone for our communications, marketing, and relationships and should effectively reflect the unconventional and game-changing solutions we are developing. You will play a large role in setting strategy and building repeatable, scalable, and efficient client development processes for generating inbound demand, and maximizing the conversion of that demand into clients of Mochila.

You will implement systems and processes to effectively track and measure key growth and retention metrics, ensuring effective execution of marketing and account management programs and continuous improvement of marketing initiatives. In addition, you will play a key role in cultivating and growing relationships with Mochila’s largest clients, ensuring that Mochila is considered a strategic partner, and that service levels and client experiences are industry-leading.

You should have experience with e-commerce brands and, as an effective creative storyteller, you will bring our products and benefits to life for our potential clients. You are a strong communicator who can understand complex issues and explain them through engaging product marketing content, campaigns, and programs, and you have a track record of building new programs from scratch and working with data to maximize the company’s marketing ROI.

 

    Responsibilities include:

  • Refining the company’s positioning, brand, and communications strategy.
  • Creating, developing, and implementing a multi-channel content strategy to reach and engage current and potential clients.
  • Developing scalable, repeatable, and efficient processes for generating demand and inbound leads, as well as maximizing conversion of leads into clients.
  • Establishing metrics to manage client relationships, communications, and marketing activities.
  • Serving as the lead account manager for the company’s biggest accounts, strengthening and nurturing those relationships, and incorporating learnings to help refine the company’s positioning and product features.
  • Building and leading a team to support growth, marketing, and account management as the company grows.

    Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an account executive, marketing manager, or business development manager. Experience working with e-commerce brands strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional client relationship skills. This means professionalism, patience, a solution-oriented mindset, and experience engaging with senior executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven success developing new business.
  • Experience with content marketing campaigns and demand generation.
  • Creative problem solving with excellent judgment. This role will provide significant opportunities to independently craft innovative plans and solutions.
  • Ability to develop and track key performance metrics and financial forecasts.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or JD strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel as required (~ 20% of the time).
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive. Like any start up employee, this person will wear many hats!
